East Kent Partnership announces new board appointments
The Executive board is made up of key representatives from organisations in east Kent, offering strategic direction and leadership to maximise the work of the EKP. The Government Office of the South East (GOSE) has joined the board following a recent invitation, and will be represented by Bernice OíReilly, East Kent Locality Manager. Denise Everitt, Director of Finance, is the new representative for the University of Kent succeeding Prof Phil Davies, and Kent County Council will now be represented by Theresa Bruton, Head of Regeneration, Environment & Regeneration Directorate. John Ratcliff, Partnerships Director of the Learning and Skills Council Kent & Medway, joined the board in September, succeeding Pauline Tiller. The EKP Executive Board plays a crucial role in setting the vision for the Partnership, focusing on the progression of the strategy and identifying funding needs. The Board meets every six weeks to review the progress of the EKP and ensure the agenda is met. Janet Waghorn, Executive Director of EKP, said: ìIt is wonderful to welcome GOSE to the board. Berniceís input will be invaluable, as will that of Denise, Theresa and John. ìThe work of the Board is vital in ensuring that EKP achieves maximum results through funding initiatives, and the knowledge of these individuals is key to this success.î The East Kent Partnership is supporting a wide range projects throughout east Kent that will have a major impact in improvements to infrastructure, business prospects and communities in the area. It has over 600 active members and works to coordinate efforts from public authorities, businesses and voluntary and community sectors. Precedence is given to initiatives that help attract new inward investment supported by a skilled and creative workforce, introduce improved integrated transport arrangements and enhance the quality of life for all.
