  1.1e Deal Environmental Improvements Public realm and community access improvements to the Port Arms/Kings Head site on the seafront by Deal Pier. Aims to maximise site to its full potential, giving an additional boost, in environmental and social terms and also help the economic development of local businesses and tourism trade.   1.1f Broomfield Community Woodland Park (incorporating regional BMX racing track) Create a Community Woodland Park out of a former landfill site and incorporate the first Regional Competition Standard BMX racing track in Kent. Herne & Broomfield Parish Council
  1.4 Coalfields Community Development Worker To assist with funding the Regeneration Worker to develop a number of projects utilising Coalfields Regeneration Trust (CRT) Funding. Dover District Council
Priority 2 Quality Places

2.1 Dover Pride:

2.1.1 Dover Public Realm

The project will secure public realm enhancements in prominent locations around Dover, namely the A2 and A20 roundabouts as the principle gateways to Dover and an iconic sculpture at the town entrance overlooking the town centre and sea. Kent County Council
  2.1.3 Dover Pride Programme Team To set up a small executive team to coordinate work and to drive forward the implementation of the Action Plan. Intended that the team will comprise a Programme Manager with dedicated administrative support, with further specialist staff resources provided by the Dover Pride partners and co-opted onto the team as required.   2.1.6 Public Realm - Dover Priory (HST Connect) Strengthen the role of Dover, as a strategic but secondary metropolitan centre, linking London & Paris, through updating infrastructure and station regeneration Kent County Council
 

2.2 Margate Masterplanning

2.2.1 Central Margate Delivery Team – Margate Renewal

Establish dedicated delivery team to co-ordinate activity and drive the project forward. It will comprise a Programme Manager with dedicated administrative and perhaps professional support Thanet District Council
  2.2.4 Kings Mile, Canterbury To provide environmental enhancements, pedestrian improvements, speed/traffic reduction and cultural awareness in the City of Canterbury. Canterbury City Council
  2.2.5 Provision of Athletes Track, Marlowe Academy Assisting with providing a running track at the Marlowe Academy; this will be used to encourage participation of physical activities within the community. Thanet District Council
  2.2.6 Margate Old Town Public Realm To create a programme of public realm improvements in Margate Old Town area aimed at creating an identity/brand for the Old Town. Thanet District Council
  2.2.7 Improvements to Lower William Street, Herne Bay Public realm improvements to transform a strategically important pedestrian link, between seafront and the main shopping area of the town centre. Canterbury City Council
Priority 3 Positive Cultural Identity 3.1a New Marlowe Theatre The specific funding request is for a contribution to the design and development fees for the new Marlowe theatre. Canterbury City Council
  3.2 The Beaney Project The development of an Art Museum and Library located at the late Victorian Beaney Institute in the centre of the main High Street. Canterbury City Council
  3.3 Dover Sea Sports Centre Development of an iconic sea sports facility on Dover seafront. Dover Harbour Board
  3.8 Impact Through IT To deploy a new joined up Destination Management System in East Kent via Visitor Information Centres. Canterbury City Council
  3.9 Tour De France 'Le Grand Depart' 2007 To appoint a dedicated project manager to manage the event on behalf of Canterbury City Council, to prepare and deliver a tactical marketing campaign and to investigate and seed fund the development of specialist support events surrounding the main event. Canterbury City Council
Priority 4 Competitive & Diverse Economy 4.3 Offshore Wind Project To identify the optimum business proposition for attracting private capital investment. Establish the business and economic case for investment. Thanet District Council
  4.4 Cruise Connection To attract more Cruise Operators to use the Port of Dover, to increase number of staying nights in East Kent. Kent Tourism Alliance/Kent County Council
  Contingency Project ‚ East Kent Tourism Strategy East Kent wide Tourism Strategy/Action Plan developed.
Priority 5 Successful & Aspirational Workforce 5.1 Marine & Aviation Sector Development Development of a Strategy and Plan of Implementation to formulate the resources that will be necessary either from within or from outside the region to develop a vibrant and innovative Supply Chain with technology based companies. This will also be the catalyst to spawn like companies from allied sectors in the region. Technology Enterprise East Kent

A cohesive campaign to attract more investment by companies and developers and will also impact on the provision of property for employment use to the East Kent area.

40 business start-up units with an easy in easy out basis providing quality space for individuals starting up their own business or existing businesses relocating from their own residence into a ́real businessî environment.
